UKRAINIANS FORM OPERA TROUPE
Another contribution to American culture, following the Koshetz Chorus and Avramenko's dance exhibitions, will be the Ukrainian operatic troupe which is being formed at the present time in New York City. Its purpose will be to popularize the Ukrainian operas and operettas, by traveling throughout the country and presenting the best of Ukrainian operatic hits to American and Ukrainian audiences.
It will be composed of well known singers, together with an orchestra and a chorus, all under the direction of Paul Ouhlitzky, former professor in the Imperial Conservatory in Petrograd and well known to American Ukrainians for his part in the production of the Ukrainian opera "Mazeppa." It is probable that well known operatic stars will take part in the production of this troupe. The troupe plans to tour the leading cities of America and Canada. Its first offerings will be "Zaporogian Beyond the Danube," "Mazeppa," and later "Taras Bulba," "Catherine," "Christmas Night," and others.
