TUSM of New York Opens New Season of Activities
NEW YORK, N.Y. - What promises to be an informative as well as entertaining evening for the students and young people in general is planned for Saturday, October 1, by the Mikhnovsky Society of Ukrainian Students (TUSM) in New York.
Yaroslav Petruch of the local TUSM branch said that the event, known as "The Autumn Meet of Students" will open the new season of activities here. "We have divided the program into two parts," said Mr. Petruch, "in the first part four talks are scheduled, and in the second we will have a piano solo, quartette singing, ballet and humorous monologues." The speakers of the evening will be A. Bedriy, V. Stoyko, K. Savchuk, and S. Chemych. They will deal with such topics as the responsibilities of TUSM, relations with Russia, problems of the student movement, and the Ukrainian studies on American universities.
In the entertainment part of the meet, according to Mr. Petruch, pianist D. Yakymiv, dancers S. Antoniak and E. Stashynska, girls' quartette from Philadelphia and humorists W. Hayduk and W. Kulchytsky will take part.
The event is to take place in the Ukrainian Institute, 2 East 79th Street in New York City.
