University of Toronto exhibit to chronicle D.P. life


TORONTO - "The D.P. Experience: Ukrainian Refugees after World War II," will be held November 1 to December 22, in the University of Toronto John P. Robarts Research Library, 130 St. George St.

Highlights of the exhibit include:

The display cases will illustrate such topics as information on the problem of displaced persons; background on Ukrainian refugees; organized relief from Canada and the United States; aspects of daily life in the camps; literature and intellectual life and the arts. Much of this important material is drawn from an extensive collection of Ukrainian D.P. publications and Ukrainian Canadiana put together by the late John Luczkiw and recently acquired by the U of T library.

The exhibit is sponsored by the John P. Robarts Research Library, U of T's Community Relations Office and the Ukrainian Librarians Association of Canada.
