Nostra culpa

A number of typographical errors occurred in the obituary of Walter Tarnopolsky (September 26). For the record, it should be noted that Justice Tarnopolsky was Canada's representative to the United Nations Human Rights Committee from 1977 to 1983, and that in 1973-1976 he headed the Canadian Committee for the Defense of Valentyn Moroz. As well, the attributions of comments about Justice Tarnopolsky should be corrected. He was called "one of the country's leading civil libertarians" by the Toronto Star, and "the father of human rights in Canada" by The Globe and Mail.
