UAJC to present Duranty Award


CHICAGO - Joe Goulden, director of media analysis for Accuracy in Media, will speak on the topic 'Duranty Lives" on April 9 at Ss. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall at noon.

The church is located at the corner of Oakley Boulevard (2300 West) and Superior Street (700 North) in Chicago in the heart of "Ukrainian Village."

Mr. Goulden will be attending a ceremony sponsored by the Ukrainian American Justice Committee (UAJC) during which Morley Safer will receive the "Walter Duranty Award for Journalistic Dissimulation."

Founded in 1969 by Reed Irvine, Accuracy in Media (AIM) has worked diligently during the past 25 years to combat "media pollution." The organization publishes AIM Report twice a month; distributes a weekly column about media error and distortion to over 100 newspapers each week; airs a five day-a-week radio commentary, "Media Monitor," on radio stations throughout the United States; and exposes media inaccuracies and distortions on its weekly television program "The Other Side of the Story," which reaches millions of viewers via satellite and cable.
