- PARMA, Ohio: St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral is sponsoring
its ninth annual Christmas radio program for sick and shut-in parishioners.
The 10:15 a.m. divine liturgy, celebrated by the Rev. John R. Nakonachny
and the Very Rev. Stephen Hankavich, with the cathedral choir, under the
direction of Markian Komichak, singing the responses, will be broadcast
over station WMIH-1260, Cleveland, at 2-3:30 p.m.
- BERWYN, Ill.: The choir of the Ukrainian Baptist Church, under the
direction of Alex Harbuziuk, will present its annual Christmas concert
to be held at the church, 6751 Riverside Drive, at 6 p.m.

- YONKERS, N.Y.: The Ukrainian American Youth Association (SUM-A) is
holding a New Year's Eve dance/malanka, to be held at the Ukrainian Youth
Center SUM-A, 301 Palisade Ave., starting at 8 p.m. Music will be provided
by the Kryshtal band. Tickets: $25, includes buffet. For table reservations

- HEMPSTEAD, N.Y.: Branch 42 of the Organization for the Defense of Four
Freedoms for Ukraine is holding a New Year's Eve dance/malanka at St. Vladimir's
Ukrainian Parish Center, 226 Uniondale Ave., starting at 9 p.m. Tickets
(includes dinner): adults, advance sale: $25; at the door: $30; students,

- YARDVILLE, N.J.: St. George's Uk-rainian Orthodox Church invites the
public to its traditional malanka to be held in the church hall, 839 Yardville-Allentown
Road, starting at 9 p.m. Music will be by Fata Morgana. Admission (includes

- PARMA, Ohio: The Brotherhood of St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral
is sponsoring its 32nd annual malanka dinner/dance in the parish center,
immediately following the 6 p.m. vespers. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased

- TUSCON, Ariz.: The Ukrainian American Society of Tuscon will hold a
malanka dinner/dance at the Tuscon Women's Club, 6245 E. Bellevue, with
cocktails at 6:30 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and dancing at 8-11
p.m. Music will be by Tom Schenek's band. Tickets: $20, adults; $10, students.

- NEW YORK: Taras Schumylowych is taking part in a group art show sponsored
by the Composers, Authors and Artists of America Inc., New York City Chapter.
Mr. Schumylowych's entry is the work titled "A Ukrainian Catholic
Church in Western Ukraine." The exhibit opens at The Republic Bank
for Savings, 415 Madison Ave. (at 48th Street) and runs through February
9. A reception will be held on January 24 at 4:30 p.m.

- PHILADELPHIA: The Philadelphia Branch of the Ukrainian Engineers' Society
of America will hold an Engineers' Ball with a presentation of debutantes
in the Grand Ballroom of the Hotel Atop the Bellevue at Broad and Walnut
streets. Dancing will be to the music of Tempo, under the direction of
Irynej Kowal. Cocktails will be served at 6 p.m.; the banquet will be at
7 p.m. and the ball and the presentation of the debutantes will begin at
9 p.m. The ball will be attended by Valerij Borzov, minister of sports
and youth, and president of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
