UNWLA'ers, and their grandchildren, perform at annual Festival of Trees
CARTERET, N.J. - Branch 100 of the Ukrainian National Women's League of America took part in the opening reception of the 11th annual Festival of Trees at the Museum of the American Hungarian Foundation in New Brunswick, N.J., on December 3, 1999.
Branch 100 decorated a Ukrainian Christmas tree with ornaments and chains hand-made by members of the branch.
A small table next to the tree displayed Ukrainian embroidery, an icon, a "kolach" (traditional Christmas bread) and information on Ukrainian Christmas traditions. There was also literature about Ukraine and The Ukrainian Museum in New York.
The exhibit will be open until January 30, and can be visited Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sundays 1-4 p.m. The museum is located at 300 Somerset St., New Brunswick; phone, (732) 846-5777.
