- NEW YORK: "Bread with Honey: A Performance of Dance and Music"
will be presented at The Bridge for Dance, featuring choreography by Katja
Pylyshenko Kolcio and music by Julian Kytasty and Alex Kytasty. The concert,
with performances on Saturday, January 22, and Friday, January 28, will
take place at 8:30 p.m. at The Bridge for Dance, 2726 Broadway; (between
104th and 105th streets); third floor, (1, 9 train to 103rd Street or 2,

- TUSCON, Ariz.: The Ukrainian American Society of Tuscon, together with
the Russian and Slavic department of the University of Arizona, will present
the annual "Malanka" - a New Year's party according to the Julian
calendar - at 6:30-11 p.m. at the University of Arizona Student Union Building
in the Senior Ballroom. Tickets are $30 for adults and $15 for full-time
students. Reservations are required and tickets must be purchased by January

will be provided by the Troika Band. All profits will be donated to the
Children of Chornobyl Relief Fund.
Wednesday-Thursday, February 2-3
- PITTSBURGH: The Duquesne University Tamburitzans will audition talent
for the 2000-2001 performing season. Graduating high school seniors and
current college undergraduates with dance, vocal or musical talent may
audition for a spot in the ensemble, which presents the music, songs and
dances of Eastern Europe and neighboring cultures. The Tamburitzans perform
from coast to coast, averaging 80 shows per season, which runs from mid-August
through May. Successful auditionees will receive substantial scholarship
aid to study in the field of their choice at Duquesne University. Selections
from Ukraine are featured regularly in the Tamburitzans' production; many
talented dancers, singers, violinists, accordionists, clarinetists and
other folk instrumentalists of Ukrainian heritage have proudly performed
with the ensemble over its 63-year history. For more information, or to

- WHITE PLAINS, N.Y.: The Ukrainian American Youth Association (SUM)
will hold its annual debutante ball at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in White
Plains, N.Y. Cocktails will be served at 6:30-7:30 p.m., with dinner to
follow. Formal presentation of debutantes and escorts will be at 9:30 p.m.
Guests will dance to the sounds of Zolota Bulava from Montreal. The ball
committee consists of Jaroslaw Palylyk, Alexandra Palylyk and Lydia Mykytyn.

- DETROIT: The Ukrainian Engineers Society of America (Detroit chapter)
cordially invites all members and guests to the 2000 winter ball and debutante
presentation at the Ukrainian Cultural Center, 26601 Ryan Road in Warren.
There will be live entertainment, courtesy of Zabava from Canada; open
bar through dinner. Dinner tickets: $55, adults, $45, retirees; dance only:
$25, adults, $15, students to age 21. Girls interested in being debutantes

REMINDER REGARDING REQUIREMENTS:
Effective September 1, there is a $10 charge per submission for listings
in Preview of Events. The listing plus payment must be received no later
than one week before the desired date of publication. There is also the
option of prepayment for a series of listings.
Listings of no more than 100 words (written in Preview format) plus payment
