Students of Ukrainian have a valuable new aid for language learning - literally at their fingertips. With a few clicks of a computer mouse, they can find the conjugation of hundreds of Ukrainian verbs.

Ukrainian Multimedia, Interactive Learning and Digital Publishing at the University of Alberta has announced the immediate availability of Andrij Hornjatkevyc's "530 Ukrainian Verbs."

The product of Canada's leading Ukrainian language and literature program, this publication is the first full-fledged Ukrainian e-book. It is presented in a cross-platform PDF format and will run on virtually any Macintosh or Windows machine that supports Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or greater.

The verb publication holds over 560 pages in a file that is less than 2 megabytes in size. Users have instant access to hundreds of Ukrainian verbs just by clicking on an English or Ukrainian hyper-linked index, and they are no longer limited to the handful of examples offered by traditional grammar textbooks.

All verbs that are irregular in any way are fully conjugated. This edition also contains verbs most frequently used in artistic prose. In short, the e-book is bound to satisfy the needs of all students, whether they are beginners or at an advanced level.

A 29-page introduction - "The Ukrainian Verb" - provides a comprehensive discussion of the Ukrainian verbal system. Those who want to jump right into the verb tables can consult a handy three-page Quick Start Guide.
