Luna band releases first CD


WOODBRIDGE, N.J. - New Jersey's Luna band on October 30 released its first CD of Ukrainian songs on the Duma Music Inc. label.

One of the most popular Ukrainian dance bands in the United States, Luna has entertained regularly at all the major Ukrainian festivals, balls, dances and resorts in the U.S. Northeast since 1987. Commanding a versatile and eclectic repertoire, Luna is a highly sought wedding band, able to entertain a wide variety of audiences, Ukrainian and non-Ukrainian alike.

This long awaited first CD release, "Listen ... and you will hear," aptly demonstrates Luna's versatility, featuring traditional and contemporary Ukrainian songs, as well as two original songs written by the band members, all in the unique style and interpretation which is Luna's signature.

The songs were arranged by Oles Kuzyszy, and the CD was engineered and produced by Yuri Turchyn at his own studio, Wheatsheaf Productions. Mr. Kuzyszyn's daughter Adriana provided backing vocals on some of the tracks.

The Luna band is composed of Mr. Kuzyszyn (keyboards, lead vocals), Mr. Turchyn (guitar, violin, vocals), Geoff Fleming (bass guitar) and Brad Giamo (drums).
