- CAMBRIDGE, Mass.: The Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute will present
a lecture by Anna Procyk, associate professor of history at the Kingsborough
College of the City University of New York. The lecture, titled "The
Great Polish Emigration and the Risorglmento in Ukraine," will be
held in the HURI seminar room, 1583 Massachusetts Ave., at 4-6 p.m. For

- PHILADELPHIA: The Ukrainian Human Rights Committee of Philadelphia,
under the aegis of the Ukrainian Catholic Education Foundation, invites
the public to a presentation by former dissident and prisoner of conscience
Prof. Myroslav Marynovych, who will deliver a lecture titled "Human
Rights, Religious Freedom and the Role of Dissidents in Contemporary Ukraine."
Prof. Marynovych is director of the Institute of Religion and Society in
Lviv. The presentation will be held at 7 p.m. at the Ukrainian Educational
and Cultural Center, 700 Cedar Road, Jenkintown, Pa. Admission is free.

- CHICAGO: The Ukrainian Artistic Center presents Julian Kytasty, who
will play on the bandura, kobzar bandura and the sopilka, in a program
featuring music from his new CD, "Black Sea Winds - The Kobzari of
Ukraine." The program will take place at the Ukrainian Institute of
Modern Art, 2320 West Chicago Ave., at 7:30 p.m. Tickets: $10; students,

- CHICAGO: The Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art presents an author's
evening with Olga Kuzmowycz who will talk about her book "This and
That." This event will take place at 7 p.m. at 2320 West Chicago Ave.

Saturday, April 13
- WARREN, Mich.: The Ukrainian Arts Society will sponsor an evening with
composer Roman Hurko at 6 p.m. in the Dovbush Room at the Ukrainian Cultural
Center, 26601 Ryan Road. The featured event will be a video presentation
of his "Panakhyda for the Victims of Chornobyl," performed in
Kyiv with the composer conducting. Refreshments will be served. Tickets
