- SOUTH BOUND BROOK, N.J.: The Central New Jersey Branch of the Committee
for Aid to Ukraine will host a celebration of the 11th anniversary of Ukraine's
independence at the Ukrainian Cultural Center, 135 Davidson Ave., Somerset,
N.J. The program will begin at 7 p.m. and will include a greeting from
Ukraine's Consul General in New York Serhiy Pohoreltzev. Performances will
feature soprano Lesia Hrabova, baritone Yaroslav Hnatiuk, pianist Svitlana
Hnatiuk, actor Rostyslav Wasylenko, bandurist Halia Cechovska, actress
Tamara Hajenko, and the Yunist and Barvinok dance ensembles. The entrance
fee is a $10 donation toward the betterment of education in Ukraine. For

- HORSHAM, Pa.: The Tryzub Ukrainian American Sports Center will celebrate
Ukrainian independence with its 11th annual Ukrainian Folk Festival at
the Tryzub Center on County Line and Lower State roads in Horsham. The
festival will feature Ukrainian folk music and dance performances, including
solo artist Ihor Bohdan, the Ridna Dusha trio, the Voloshky and Obrij dance
ensembles, the Harmonia Orchestra and Ukraine's Oros Sisters. Vendors will
sell traditional Ukrainian crafts and foods, as well as favorite American
picnic fare. The festival begins at noon and concludes with a zabava (dance)
at 4 p.m. As an alternative to dancing, guests are invited to watch the
Ukrainian Nationals amateur adult soccer team in an exhibition match. Admission
is $10, children 13 or under are admitted free. For more information call
