Editor-in-Chief Roma Hadzewycz
joined The Weekly staff full-time in February 1977. After serving as editorial assistant, assistant editor and editor, she was named editor-in-chief in May 1980. She holds a B.A. in journalism and psychology from New York University and an M.A. in journalism with a concentration in politics, also from NYU. She has edited the four books released by The Ukrainian Weekly: “The Great Famine in Ukraine: The Unknown Holocaust” (1983, second edition -1988; co-edited with George Zarycky and Marta Kolomayets), “The Ukrainian Weekly 2000” – Volume I, 1933-1969 (2000; co-edited with Irene Jarosewich) and Volume II, 1970-1999 (2001) and “Ukraine Lives!” (2002). Ms. Hadzewycz served as an advisor of the Ukrainian National Association for two and a half terms, 1990-1998, and 2000-2002.

Since February 2007 Ms. Hadzewycz has been editor-in-chief also of Svoboda, the Ukrainian-language weekly newspaper published by the UNA.
