Advisor changes to the UNA General Assembly

PARSIPPANY, N.J. – At the 38th Regular Convention of the Ukrainian National Association, held in May 2014, the delegates attending the convention elected the UNA General Assembly. However, during the course of 2015, changes occurred in the composition of General Assembly.

Dr. Wasyl Szeremeta, a three-term member of the UNA Auditing Committee, resigned as auditor in order to accept a position on the board of directors of the Ukrainian National Foundation.

With a position vacated on the UNA Auditing Committee, and as specified in the By-Laws of the Ukrainian National Association, the Executive Committee of the UNA, at its most recent meeting, unanimously appointed Andrij Gavdanovich as the third member of the UNA Auditing Committee. Mr. Gavdanovich is president of UNA Branch 234 of Eatontown, N.J., and was elected as an advisor on the UNA General Assembly at the 2014 Regular Convention.

Olya Czerkas of UNA Branch 381 of St. Petersburg, Fla., and a former advisor on the UNA General Assembly, accepted the position of advisor vacated by Mr. Gavdanovich. Ms. Czerkas was previously UNA advisor serving two terms, 2006 -2010 and 2010 -2014.
