GLASTONBURY, Conn. – The scouts and leaders of the Hartford, Conn., branch of Plast Ukrainian Scouting Organization met at J.B. Williams Park in Glastonbury, Conn., on Sunday, October 2, to begin their educational year. The scouts meet every Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael Ukrainian School. Plast’s mission is to promote an all-encompassing and patriotic program of self-education for Ukrainian youths based on Christian principles. Being a non-political and non-confessional organization, Plast educates youth as conscious, responsible and valuable citizens on the local, national and world community levels, with a view toward producing future leaders of society. Those interested in signing up their children are invited to stop by on a Saturday to learn more about Ukrainian scouting.
